The College of Architecture and Urban Planning in Shanghai, China was founded in 1952 by a merger of the Civil Engineering Department of Tongji University, the architecture departments of St. John's University, Zhijiang University, and Hangzhou Arts School, as a result of the nationwide university restructuring in the 1950s.
The College has the the most complete range of architectural programs among Chinese universities:
Department of Architecture, Department of Urban Planning, Department of Industrial Design, Department of Landscape Science and Tourism, and several research institutes.
